How to write a blog post as a beginner?

Most beginner guides skip the one thing that matters: if you want the post to be read, you need to know what query it is trying to rank for. Without that, you are writing into the void.

  1. Pick one specific keyword. Not "productivity" but "morning routine for remote workers."
  2. Google the keyword and read the top 5 results. Note subtopics, length, and format.
  3. Outline before drafting. Use H2s for the main sections you saw in the top results.
  4. Draft in plain language. Short sentences. Roughly the same length as the top-ranking posts.
  5. Edit once for clarity, once for SEO. Add your keyword to H1, meta title, meta description, and first paragraph.
  6. Publish and link to the new post from your homepage and related existing posts.

Skip images, widgets, and schema markup until later. Get the first 20 posts out with this process. Once Google Search Console shows which ones get impressions, invest extra effort in upgrading those specific winners.
